Celebrate: TODAY

come celebrate

with me
that everyday

something has tried to kill me

and has failed.

Celebrate: TODAY! #12yrs

You are here to celebrate with me.
You are the treat I gift myself;
I am selfish today;
I am.

Forgive me.
My worn-out body,
my threadbare soul,
almost unrecognizable in the mirror,
shades of an earlier decade when something tried to kill me,

but failed.

Then,
back then,
Fortitude did not waiver.
But this time, Tenacity is exhausted.
Need for repair, refuel,

Restoration:
A revival.

How can one lose sight of the horizon?
I am unbalanced.
On my knees.

And You, Spiritual Savior,
Preach to me.
Your voice: a hymn, carried on air between starshine and clay,
raises the ceiling of my cathedral.
Raises me to the heights of the rafters, choir-loft high.

Let my soul and spirit fly.

You baptize me with salty water
-- like sweat, like tears, like ocean  --
you heal.

Light breaks glass stained by muddy chaos,
heavy as lead,
until finally a clean breath,
until finally my feet take hold again in the clay.

I find my strength:

Your sermon calls me:
Lift face to sun,
Resolve,
Pray in the language of hope.

Right the compass needle to point the way back to myself;
Help find my voice once again.

Hallelujah!

And thank you.
You are here to celebrate with me today.
